An Instrumental Start: A Model for the Nation
Letter-writing Campaign for Teachers and Students
Welcome to the Letter-writing Campaign for An Instrumental Start: A Model for the Nation
After viewing An Instrumental Start: A Model for the Nation we encourage students, teachers, families and anyone who believes in the power of arts education, to write a non-partisan one-page letter (250 words or less) to their U.S. Congress members. As the film reaches more viewers at universities across the country, we believe this grass-roots campaign—which will culminate with a screening at the nation’s capital in Washington, D.C. later this year—will be a highly effective way to enact change nationwide. This is an opportunity for your voice to be heard.
Below are links to the Guidelines instructing how to reach your Congress members, along with a Sample Letter to provide an idea of the content that you can write. Please write your letter in your own words. Make it personal—your story is more powerful than any template. Do not copy the sample text as it is not an effective way to convey your message.
